Cash Donations

As a registered, non-profit amateur athletic association, the Padel Association of Canada is eligible for certain community and government grants. Many of our facility improvements over the years were made possible by existing government programs.

As of 2008, for every dollar donated to the association, the provincial government of Alberta will match those dollars!! This is called the Community Spirit Program. Padel Canada is very excited about this opportunity as it will help us continue to grow and promote padel in Calgary and the rest of Alberta.

Padel Canada is able to provide tax receipts for cash donations.

More about the Community Spirit Program;

Donation Grant Program:

Maximum donation grant is $25,000 per year, with total donation grants not to exceed $50,000 over three years.

A total of $1,000 in eligible cash donations is required prior to applying for a donation grant.

The donation grant can be used to support operations, programs and/or capital projects.

The donation grant application deadline is December 31.

Donation grants will be calculated on a proportional basis and will be based on eligible cash donations from individuals that have been received by an eligible organization over a 12-month fiscal period.

Enhanced Charitable Tax Credit

Effective January 1, 2007, the Alberta government raised the charitable tax credit for eligible annual donations above $200 by 60 per cent.

Including the federal credit, Albertans now receive a 50-cent tax credit for every dollar donated over the $200 threshold. The increase gives Alberta one of the highest charitable tax credits in Canada.
