The sport of padel is a hybrid of tennis and squash, played as a doubles game on an enclosed structure. It has gained rapid acceptance due to its simplicity and similarities to other popular racket sports.
Padel is always a doubles game, using mainly tennis rules and scoring with some key adaptations such as an underhand serve. The game is played in an enclosed structure and the rules allow for the use of the back wall and sidewalls resulting in longer rallies.
Members of the Padel Association of Canada currently play the three outdoor courts at AE Cross School on 37 Street and Richmond Road SW.
Trial padels and free introductory lessons are available to anyone wanting to try out this exiciting sport. Bring your your family and friends, a pair of runners and try out the game of padel.
